Liar! Liar! Pants on Fire!

How convenient that I left off the biggest item on my To Do List.  Ceasing all caffeine intake!  My mind tried to shield me from the horrors of such a task.  Nevertheless, it belongs at the top of the list.

I am a double shot kinda girl.  Specifically an iced skinny single pump vanilla latte kind of girl.  I make my own at home to cut down on expenses and I enjoy it both taste-wise, energy boost-wise and prevention from throttling my coworkers-wise.

I've quit at various point in my ttc attempts and I'll do it again, it's just that I don't look forward to it.  I'm going away on Thursday for a four day camping trip.  Instead of dragging along my campfire espresso pot and accessories I think I will go cold turkey.  Hopefully the lazing about, the clean air and the daily hikes will make the process easier.

Who am I kidding?  Any bears in the area better watch their step because the first couple of days without my fix I am going to turn into a beast in two seconds flat.

  1. I so understand this. While my addiction is a certain wonderful soft drink, I find myself very short-tempered (and more than a little tired) when I go without it. Good luck!!!

  2. Oh good luck! It's worth it right? a lot of fat good that does when you're in the throws of withdrawl, lol! Seriously tho, I'm so excited for you that you're so close to your trip & hopefully coming home with the mother of all souvenirs, pun intended :)

  3. Going off caffeine was horrible for me. The headaches, the grumpiness, the loss of my will to live...The only way I can succeed at it long-term is to drink decaf because I can sort of fool myself into thinking I'm still getting my fix.

    Good luck with it!

  4. Cold Turkey!?!? You are a brave, brave woman. I took five weeks last summer to wean myself off of caffeine and I have exercised extreme care to never become "addicted" again. If I notice I've had caffeine a few days in a row, I'll abstain for a day or two to get it out of my system.

I recommend taking at least a soft drink or two with you so it doesn't ruin your trip in case the headaches get really bad!
